Supporting Children With SEND At West Jesmond Primary
Our support for children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) is based on our core whole school vision of kindness and inclusivity. Our children have a very diverse range of backgrounds and needs and all are welcome in our school. Our aim is to ensure that all children know they are an important part of our West Jesmond Family and come home every day with feelings of achievement, pride and an enjoyment of learning.
These SEND pages are designed to give you information about the variety of ways we support our children with special educational needs to achieve their potential at our school. We provide a wide range of educational and pastoral support to all our children which enables children with SEND to make at least the same progress as their peers from their own individual starting points. The information here is general as every child is an individual and will aim to provide receive unique provision and resources to meet their particular requirements.
We want to work closely with our families to ensure every child has the very best support possible. Please contact at the school if you want to discuss your child and how together we can meet their needs.
Ms Gemma Jordan is our Special Educational Needs and Disability Leader and can be contacted through the School Office 0191 281 0000 or by Email: gjordan@westjesmond.newcastle.sch.uk or SEN@westjesmond.newcastle.sch.uk
